Skincare Quiz Results

Based on your answers, find your skin type below and discover which products are best suited to fight acne and nourish your skin according to your skin type from our recommended product lines.

Mostly A’s - Dry Skin

We all get dry patches sometimes, but some get it more than others. If your skin is frequently dry, moisturize regularly, and don’t skimp on sunscreen; sunburns will make your skin not only dry but also flaky. The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) advises those with dry skin to use alcohol and fragrance-free products. The AAD also recommends lowering the water temperature while bathing to soothe dry skin as well. Here at Well Ahead Chicago, we have many sulfate, paraben, and fragrance-free products that will keep your skin hydrated and looking great.

Mostly B’s - Oily Skin

We need oil in our skin, but sometimes we can have too much of a good thing. If you produce too much sebum, it can clog your pores and create blemishes. Opt for oil-free cleansers to clear blemishes and astringents to dry any excess oil. A 2020 peer-reviewed article on Medical News today advised against roughly washing the skin as well since the scraping can encourage oil production. The same goes for rough motions when drying the face, instead, pat the area dry instead of rubbing the towel against your face. The Pore Purifying Starter Kit is the perfect for fighting breakouts in oily skin and will give your skin just the right level of moisture.

Mostly C’s - Combination skin

Your skin has a variety of needs since combination skin is typically dry in one area and oily in the next. The level of sensitivity to products also varies depending on the area. For example, your forehead, nose, and chin may be able to handle more astringent and other drying products than say, your cheeks. The Center for Excellence in Aging and Community Wellness (CEACW) suggests that when dealing with combination skin, it is important to wash the face regularly and apply moisturizer since dry skin can make you produce too much sebum, the main cause of oily skin. We have the perfect moisturizers (among other things) for your skin’s multiple needs.

Mostly D’s - Normal Skin

Despite the name, this is actually the most uncommon skin type. Your skin isn’t very sensitive which means it can tolerate and even benefit from a lot more products. The moisture in your skin is balanced, which means you don’t normally experience flakiness or greasiness. Lucky you! Even though your skin type is desirable, it does still require upkeep, and we have just the stuff to help you maintain your balanced skin.

Mostly E’s - Sensitive skin

Your skin is delicate, which means you need to watch what products you use and your sun exposure. The Skin Institute states that overexposure to UV rays can make the skin more sensitive, and so can cold weather and even hot showers. Plus, you likely do not need exfoliation more than twice a week. If you have sensitive skin, sunscreen, hypoallergenic and fragrance-free products are your friend, and we have plenty of them.
