Do We Take Insurance?
Unfortunately health insurance is not designed for health & wellness care. It is designed for disease management. As a consequence, functional medicine often does not fit the insurance model. Insurance plans are inconsistent with covering wellness services.
Insurance reimbursement is usually limited; often it’s not enough to cover a doctor’s expenses for running a clinic. Insurance billing is also a very time consuming process. We prefer to focus our time on helping our clients reach their health goals.
We provide transparent upfront pricing. This allows you to be informed about costs and prevents you from receiving surprise bills if your insurance does not cover a service. We offer payment plans, so we can offer comprehensive care in a way that’s affordable.
Many wellness services may not be considered medically necessary by your insurance company. When any practice or clinic accepts insurance, insurance then becomes your doctor by dictating your care based on what they decide to cover.
We want to be thorough in our assessment and have the ability to run whatever tests are necessary to properly analyze your condition.
Being out-of-network with insurance plans also makes it possible to offer extended visits, tele-health, advanced testing services and provide individualized recommendations because we are able to take the time to understand your unique situation.
We can provide an itemized receipt upon request that can be submitted to insurance. In some cases, this can defray cost. However we cannot guarantee any amount of reimbursement. Our team cannot assist with insurance claims. Please contact your insurance plan with any questions regarding reimbursement prior to your initial visit.
Cancellation Policy
Because an extended time slot is being reserved, payment in full is required to hold all initial appointments. Please note initial consult fees are NON-REFUNDABLE
Cancellation Policy: Due to longer visit times, no-shows and late cancellations are problematic for our practice. We ask for your help in minimizing missed appointments.
For appointments, no-shows or cancellations less than 3 business days before the scheduled appointment time will result in a loss of the deposit.
Testing Interpretation
If you have had labs done prior to your initial visit that you would like the doctor to interpret, please note interpretation of labs is discussed during follow up visits.
